Food Pantry Update

We had our first client from Love INC Wednesday!  It was a great feeling to be able to give a hand up to someone not a handout. Our food pantry has some holes this week.  Monetary donations can also be made by using one of the envelopes in the Sanctuary and marking it Food Pantry. Thank you so much!

Love INC update:   As a result of the "Stock The Shelves" drive held during the month of October, the Hillsboro network of churches donated to The Cleaning Closet:  shampoo, conditioner  bar soap, hand soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes,mouthwash, laundry soap, dryer sheets and deodorant.  We also received more paper products from the Georgia Pacific donation.  At the "Country Fair" fundraising Dessert Banquet held on November 2, a total of $11,400 was raised for the increased ministry efforts this next year.

Help Wanted   New Life is accepting applications for a part time custodian.  This position offers 12-14 hours per week, with some flexibility for special events.

Applicants must be available to work during business hours, Monday-Thursday. Applications are available at the Information Desk or church office and should be to the church office no later than November 29.

The food pantry will serve our first clients recruited from Love INC on Wednesday, November 28th from 2pm  to 4pm. I am super excited to see God working among us. Our church members have been so generous in the past that I am needing to ask for their help once again. We also can take monetary donations. Anyone wanting to give monetarily can place a check/cash in an envelope and mark it food pantry. I can do the shopping for them.

Announcements for October 5th, 2012

First a couple of opportunities to pass along to your LGs:

• We have two Student Growth Groups (one for boys and one for girls) starting this month. These growth groups will be in depth bible studies specifically geared or our students' needs.We will be meeting for 6 weeks on Wednesday afternoons at 4:30 pm.  This is a time that allows students to come early before ConXion (so parents are not inconvenienced) but also forces them to come immediately after school. They are not able to eat dinner before coming and stay at the church until 8:15 pm. We would love to provide a light snack or finger foods to help these students. We need drinks and snacks (like sandwiches, cheese and crackers, fruit, veggies, or anything easy) for aout 15-20 students total. We would love help- this would be a big blessing to those who are actively seeking growth in their walk with Christ! If anyone can help, please contact Mellisa Pressley.

Right now we have a volunteer for the first week, there are 5 more weeks to serve!
